Improved article video experience - In the Article to Video use case, often the original article text can't be used as-is for videos. You can now easily edit the text selected from the article and reorder them even before you reach the storyboard

Turn off auto highlights - You also have an option to turn off the automatic highlighting of keywords in the video text. You may sometimes prefer highlighting the keywords manually. In such scenarios, it was cumbersome to unhighlight all the automatic keywords first and then highlight the new keywords

Turn off auto visual selection - You also get an option to turn off the AI from automatically picking the background visuals for you. In some videos, you may want just text and a plain background color. Or you may like to add one visual for all the scenes. In such use cases, this option would save time

 Decide how much text must appear in each scene - You can now easily do that by either choosing sentence breaks (periods) or line breaks (inserting a new line) or both

We are super excited to announce the release of a new, faster, and sleek text format editor. This editor is a result of the amazing feedback that we've received from you and our continuous focus to simplify your video-creation workflow. 

The new text editor solves several limitations of our previous editor. You can now

Today we are excited to announce a much-needed capability in the video creation workflow you have asked for.

Scene Duration Adjustment: For the text-to-video scenario with no voice-overs, you can now easily change the timing of each scene from the default 5 second duration. Please find the Scene Duration stepper control on the top right side of the Storyboard screen.

Note that this adjustment is not available when you have a voiceover  since the voiceover duration controls the scene duration. 

As always, we continue to quash other bugs in our journey towards a much better user experience for you.

We've been working hard to continuously improve Pictory based on your feedback. We'd like to highlight some of the key improvements that we have enabled recently:

Improved voiceover UX - While we have made some improvements to our voiceover synchronization algorithm, more importantly, we have built a new user interface to help you rapidly make any synchronization adjustments.

 

Improved stock video search results - We’ve made some improvements to our stock video search algorithm, so you should now see more visual options to select from.

 

Ellipses for sub-scenes removed - Long sentences are still split into sub-scenes, but you won’t see the annoying ellipses anymore. 

We also quashed several other bugs in our journey towards a much better user experience for you. Please try and share your feedback.  Stay tuned for many more exciting capabilities in Pictory coming soon.

We are very excited to announce the release of our much awaited feature -- automatic synchronization of voice-over with all scenes in the video.

Under the Audio tab, you will now see a new option to apply a voice-over to the entire video. Any uploaded voice-over file or even one recorded with Pictory can be applied to the entire video now.

Our AI will automatically determine the appropriate scene boundaries and synchronize the voice-over. In case the AI synchronization is not accurate, you can easily adjust the scene boundaries by looking at the waveform display. 

August 2021

We are excited to announce a new update of Pictory today with several much-asked-for features. Here is what's included in this new update in addition to the many bugs that we've squashed along the way:

1.  Volume control: Control the volume of music track v/s the voiceover track. Customize your videos more thorough this slider in a new Audio Setting section of the Audio Tab of Pictory.

2.  Text download: Now you can download the text file (in TXT, SRT, or VTT format) of the transcript immediately after the transcription of a video is completed. Save time with this new Download text button on the transcription page.

3.  Adjust number of lines in captions/subtitles: Now you can adjust the maximum number of lines which show the captions on-screen. Simply set the Max number of lines settings on the transcription page to the number of lines desired.

4.  Optimize speed v/s size: Now you can make your video generation go a little bit faster if you are okay with slightly larger sized videos. Find a new setting under the Format tab of the Storyboard screen where the default is set to make the video generation faster.  

In addition to these new features, we have squashed several bugs and made many usability improvements.

We have just upgraded your Pictory with a few major enhancements. These are again based on the wonderful inputs we are getting from marketers and content creators such as you. 

Multiple short videos from one lengthy video - You can now easily select the portions of transcribed text and download them as video snippets. Thus, generate dozens of short videos from one long video such as a webinar, video podcast, customer interview. You can post these videos on social media to amplify the visibility of your video contents. Learn more here

Download videos from transcription text itself - This is perfect when you want to just edit or clean your video without a lot of customizations. You can edit the videos using transcribed text and download the videos at this step itself without going to next step i.e. storyboard

Undo video deletions inline - You can undo your text and video deletions by just clicking the undo icon in the transcribed text itself. You no longer have to guess and click project-level undo multiple times to undo undesired deletions

We are super excited to launch these new capabilities based on our continuous customer engagement. 

 

➡️ Edit videos in multiple languages.  You can now edit videos in Italian, Spanish, German, and French languages. Just indicate the language while uploading your video and Pictory's AI will automatically transcribe the video into that language and add subtitles. You can search the video by searching for text, plus delete sentences and words that you wish to cut out of your final video    

➡️ Detect silences in the video automatically. Pictory now shows silences in the video as a part of the transcript. Easily review and delete any awkward silences in the video just like deleting a word or a sentence   

➡️ Faster video editing and rendering. We have fine-tuned our algorithms to enable you to edit and summarize long videos faster. We now leverage the backend computing power even more to accelerate your overall workflow including video upload, transcription, and final video rendering. 

Additionally, we have fixed a few bugs and improved the UX for editing the video transcription.

We are very excited to announce a brand new use case in Pictory for 2021. 

Pictory now allows you to edit and summarize videos using text. We are trying to make editing videos as easy as editing email in these easy steps. Watch a video demo of this capability. 

Upload the video to edit. As the video is uploaded, Pictory's advanced AI engine transcribes the video and converts it to an accurate text representation where the time stamp for each word is stored internally.

Search and edit the transcribed text to edit the video. Search the video by searching for text on the transcription. Select and delete sentences and words wish to cut out of your final video. Automatically remove filler words like uhs and ums. Edit the transcriptions that will show up as video captions.

Summarize the video to the desired length. Our AI can automatically select a set of summary sentences from the transcription. Easily unselect or select other sentences to include in the summary. 

Add B-Rolls and Customize Brand Settings. Pictory offers over 3 million images or videos that you can choose as B-rolls on any sentence. Pictory allows you to create your own custom brand settings with fonts and color schemes. You can also add your logo and a standard Intro and Outro scene.

In addition to these new features, we have squashed several bugs and made many usability improvements.

We are excited to announce several improvements in Pictory that we made in November 2020.  Here are the new capabilities we added based on our continuous customer conversations.

Video generation is now done in an asynchronous mode.  No need to wait while the video is being generated, you will get notified once it is done.

Output video size is now highly optimized so you don't have to deal with very large MP4 files.

You can now easily add scenes before or after another scene making your storyboard editing easier.

We now support scroll bars throughout the app allowing you to navigate easier.

We are excited to announce several improvements in Pictory that we made in August. Here are some key new capabilities that we’ve added:

Search for similar visuals - Your visuals search experience is simplified further. You can now search for visuals that are similar to an image or video clip you like. Look out for the 'Search Similar' icon on any image on the Visuals tab. This is powered by our new image recognition AI algorithm.

Custom Intro - Under brand settings, like the Outro scene, you can now add a custom Intro scene that will be automatically applied to every video you create. This will help you ensure brand consistency in all your videos.

Improvements in audio search - The AI algorithm that automatically selects the musical audio track based on the mood of your Text content has been improved.  

Multiple aspect ratios - You can now with a single click create Pictory videos in different aspect ratios for different social platforms. In addition to the 16:9 horizontal video, we also now support the 9:16 vertical video, and a 1:1 square video.

Scene Settings Control - You now have more granular control on scene settings where you can choose whether to pan or zoom the scene image or to play voice-over or music on a specific scene. 

Undo - You can now Undo actions while editing the storyboard. 

Search recommendations - Simplify manual search of images with AI-based search recommendations

September 2020

We are excited to announce several improvements in Pictory that we made in the second half of September.  Here are the new capabilities we added based on our continuous customer conversations.

Custom Voiceover - You can now record your own voice-over for a video or upload a professional voiceover. Look for the new Add Audio button under the scene visual on the Storyboard page. See an example video here. 

Custom Music - You can now upload custom music tracks for your video as well. Check out the new Upload tab in the Audio section. 

Scene Transitions - We now offer many exciting new scene transitions options that you can select from under the Styles section.

Visuals to Video - Check out our brand new use case where you can start directly from your own images or videos and rapidly create a slideshow type video. Simply upload the visuals in the first screen of Pictory and go. You can add text to every scene in the Storyboard step. 

Vimeo Integration - After the video is generated, it is now automatically uploaded as a private video to Vimeo. You can get the URL by clicking on the Share button after the video generation is completed. 

These capabilities were added in the last release in mid-September. 

New scene types - We now support many different kinds of scenes. You can now add (1) a blank scene with a solid or textured background, (2) a text-only scene with a solid or textured background, or (3) a scene with only an image or a video clip, but no text.

Trimming of video clips - You now have a choice to trim any scene video clip to the desired length. This trimming can be done on any of our stock videos or on videos that you import.

Watermarks removed - We have now removed most watermarks from the visuals in the storyboard section as well as in the video preview.

Music fade-out - In the last scene of the video, we've added a fade-out of the music when there is no outro scene.

In addition to these new features, we have squashed several bugs and made many usability improvements.

SHORT FRIENDLY VERSION
We pay you for paying customers you send to use so long as we are able to track them; we use very clever software to do that.
We pay you 30 days after we get paid in case the customer refunds, which they don't do very often.
We don't pay commission on subscriptions for your own use, and our software automatically spots people who try.
We'll send you free training and assets automatically when you sign up, and they're very cool.
If you are going to run PPC campaigns, please read section 4 below carefully as it gets a bit complicated.
Please don't set up websites or forward domains which include 'Pictory' or anything similar.
We're not exclusive partners, feel free to date others.
If we're going to break up, we'll give you plenty of notice.
Please respect our trademarks as lawyers cost a fortune.
Please don't spam & play nicely or we may have to close your affiliate account, and we really don't want to do that.

FULL LEGAL VERSION
These terms and conditions ("Terms", "Agreement") are an agreement between Pictory Corp. ("Pictory Corp.", "us", "we" or "our") and you ("Affiliate", "you" or "your"). It describes how we will work together and other aspects of our business relationship.

By signing up as an affiliate partner and thereby joining the PROGRAM, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement at all times.

We periodically update these terms, the most up to date terms will be posted here, it is your responsibility to check back regularly to ensure you remain in agreement and compliance.

Violation of any of the Account Terms below may result in the termination of your Affiliate Account and forfeiture of any outstanding affiliate commission payments earned during the violation. You agree to use the PROGRAM at your own risk.

1) Affiliate partner link and code (where applicable)

You will only be eligible for a commission payment for customer transactions that are resulting from the leads generated by the affiliate link or the discount code that we provide you if your level qualifies for such a code.

Cookies used as part of the affiliate link have a set duration of 9999 days. If a potential customer clears their cookies during this period, Pictory shall not be liable for any commissions that may have been owed to you.

Once we receive the affiliate lead information, it will be stored in our database and may be part of the customer engagement process.

2) Payment terms

The start of the customer’s subscription is determined by the date of the first purchase of the subscription service by the customer. You will receive a commission payment commensurate with your applicable level at the time the customer purchases, for the life of the subscription revenue resulting from a monthly or an annual plan.

No commissions will be paid for subscription plans which are for your own use.

Payments will commence when you have referred at least two active paying customers. Payments due for your first active paying customer will accrue within your affiliate account until you refer your second active paying customer after which all funds due will be paid to you in accordance with the monthly payment schedule below.

Payments will be made on a monthly basis after receiving the payment from the customer and the 30-day refund guarantee period lapses.

If the customer wants to cancel the subscription and is eligible for a refund, the commission will be calculated on the net revenue only.

You are responsible for payment of all taxes and fees (including bank fees) applicable to the commission.

3) Training and support

As a part of this PROGRAM, we may make available to you various marketing resources such as – product videos, webinars, blogs etc.

We expect you to encourage your sales team and other relevant personnel to participate in them from time-to-time. We may change or discontinue any or all parts of the training and support, benefits or offerings at any time without notice.

4) Pay-Per-Click (“PPC”) Restrictions

Unless Pictory first gives you written permission, you agree to comply with the following restrictions:

4.1 Search Terms

You may not bid on any of our Restricted Terms (defined below), including any variations or misspellings thereof for search or content- based campaigns on Google, Bing, MSN, Yahoo, Facebook or any other network.

“Restricted Terms” means any of the following terms: Pictory, Pictory.ai, www.Pictory.ai, Pictory coupon, Pictory.ai coupon, Pictory discount code, Pictory.ai discount code, Pictory discount, Pictory.ai discount, Pictory promo code, Pictory.ai promo code, Pictory sale, Pictory.ai sale, Pictory promo, Pictory.ai promo, Pictory sales, Pictory.ai sales, Pictory deals, Pictory.ai deals.

You may not use our Restricted Terms, including any variations or misspellings as per above in sequence with any other keyword.

You may not use our Restricted Terms in your ad title, ad copy, display name or as the display URL.

You may not use any of our trademarked terms as part of the domain or sub-domain for Your Website.

You may not direct link to the Site from any PPC ad or use redirects that yield the same result. Customers must be directed to an actual page on Your Website.

You may not bid in any manner appearing higher than us for any search term in positions 1-5 in any auction-style PPC advertising program.

If you automate your PPC campaigns, it is your responsibility to exclude our trademarked terms from your marketing and related activities and we strongly suggest you add our trademarked terms as negative keywords.

We have a strict no tolerance policy on PPC trademark bidding.

4.2 Graphical Assets

You may use any of the graphical assets which we provide under the 'Assets' tab in your Affiliate Dashboard in your PPC campaigns however these are the ONLY graphics you may use. You cannot create your own (This is to allow us to maintain control over our branding and messaging).

We will not enter a discussion about when the violation started and when it stopped; you will forfeit all Affiliate Fees for a minimum of the past 30 days, your Affiliate Fee balance will be set to $0 without warning, and we may terminate your participation in the Program at our discretion.

5) Domain Forwarding Restrictions

The use of domain forwarding is allowed, for instance YourDomain.com > Pictory.ai, however YourDomain, or any of its subdomains, must not include the word Pictory, Pictoryai or any other name owned by Pictory. For example forwarding BestVideoEditor.com to Pictory.ai is allowed, however forwarding PictorBestVideoEditor is not.

6) Non-Exclusivity

This Agreement does not create an exclusive agreement between you and us.

7) Partnership period

This agreement is valid for 1 year unless terminated prior to that. Both you and we can mutually decide to renew the contract after the first year. Both you and we may terminate this Agreement on fifteen (15) days written notice to the other party.

An affiliate lead is not considered valid if its first click on the affiliate link is after this agreement has expired or terminated.

8) Intellectual property rights

This Agreement does not transfer to you any intellectual property owned by Pictory Corp. or third parties, and all rights, titles, and interests in and to such property will remain (as between the parties) solely with Pictory Corp. All trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with our website or services, are trademarks or registered trademarks of Pictory Corp. or Pictory Corp. licensors.

Other trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with our website or services may be the trademarks of other third-parties. Your use of our Website and Services grants you no right or license to reproduce or otherwise use any Pictory Corp. or third-party trademarks.

9) Third party digital content - Images and Video footage

Content is for digital use within Pictory only and may not be used for printing or any other use.

You and/or customers referred by you may not use the content as a trademark for a business. You may not portray a person in a way that may be offensive, including: in connection with adult-oriented services or ads for dating services; in connection with the promotion of tobacco products; in connection with political endorsements; with pornographic, defamatory, unlawful, offensive or immoral content; and as suffering from, or being treated for, a physical or mental ailment. You may only use the content in campaigns and content created on Pictory, and not with other website or content services.

10) Spam

You may use banner advertisements, button links and/or text links to our site (the "Links"), however, you CANNOT SPAM.

Any activity by you or on your behalf that we determine or reasonably suspect to be the result of an unsolicited bulk e-mail program, inappropriate submission of webforms or any other spamming activity (manual or automated) will result in your immediate termination from the PROGRAM and your forfeiting of monies otherwise due you hereunder.

11) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Pictory Corp. and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from and against any liabilities, losses, damages or costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, incurred in connection with or arising from any third-party allegations, claims, actions, disputes, or demands asserted against any of them as a result of or relating to your content, your use of the website or services or any willful misconduct on your part.

12) Dispute resolution

The formation, interpretation, and performance of this Agreement and any disputes arising out of it shall be governed by the substantive and procedural laws of Washington, United States without regard to its rules on conflicts or choice of law and, to the extent applicable, the laws of the United States. The exclusive jurisdiction and venue for actions related to the subject matter hereof shall be the courts located in Washington, United States, and you hereby submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts. You hereby waive any right to a jury trial in any proceeding arising out of or related to this Agreement. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to this Agreement

13) Termination

Pictory, in its sole discretion, has the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the PROGRAM, or any other Pictory service, for any reason at any time. Such termination of the Service will result in the deactivation or deletion of your Account or your access to your Account, and the forfeiture and relinquishment of all potential or to-be-paid commissions in your Account if they were earned through fraudulent, illegal, or overly aggressive, questionable sales or marketing methods. Pictory reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

Additionally, Pictory in its sole discretion has the right to terminate the PROGRAM at any time. If the PROGRAM is terminated, payment of any future commissions are terminated including recurring payments for prior referral purchases.
